Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rigging and Automation Technician to join our Digital, Production & Venue Support (DPVS) team at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a world-class arts institution, supporting over 1,150 events annually across various venues. As a key member of our DPVS team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of rigging systems, both counterweight and automated, as well as loose rigging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the setup and operation of technical systems
  • Aid the DPVS team in delivering seamless client service
  • Ensure the safe operation of our venues and equipment
  • Rig, operate, and maintain both counterweight and automated rigging systems
  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of other technical systems
  • Conduct statutory testing and inspections of rigging and other equipment

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable expertise in rigging and flying systems
  • Experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting counterweight and automated rigging systems
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols relevant to technical production
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
