Medical Receptionist OpportunityAbout the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to provide exceptional patient care and administrative support in our busy GP practice.

The ideal candidate will have a background working in healthcare, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will be confident in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors to the practice, providing a warm and welcoming environment
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and redirect them accordingly, ensuring timely responses to patient queries
  • Deal with patient inquiries, including calling hospitals for letters and lab reports, promoting efficient communication
  • Maintain clinical rooms, reception, and waiting areas in a clean and organized state, upholding high standards of hygiene and safety
  • Restock information leaflets and other relevant materials, ensuring patients have access to necessary resources
  • Check emails on a daily basis, staying informed and up-to-date on practice news and updates
Requirements
  • GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths, demonstrating solid academic foundations
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, showcasing expertise in healthcare principles
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a GP practice, highlighting familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
  • Strong customer service skills, enabling effective communication with patients and colleagues
Salary

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience), reflecting market rates for Medical Receptionists in the region

We utilize EMIS Web and DOCMAN as our clinical systems, along with Ask My GP to provide a digital platform for our patients. This allows us to streamline processes, improve patient engagement, and enhance overall care.
