About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Advocate to join our team at Clinks. As a Housing Advocate, you will play a critical role in supporting survivors of domestic abuse in maintaining their tenancies and preventing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse, empowering them to take control of their lives and make informed decisions about their housing and safety.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning.
  • Work closely with local authorities, housing associations, and other agencies to ensure that survivors have access to the support and resources they need.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including survivors, service providers, and community groups.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the safety and well-being of survivors.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms.
  • Good understanding of violence against women and girls, focusing on the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on women, children, families, and communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with survivors and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of survivors.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to domestic abuse, housing, and benefits.
