About the Role

The South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to lead our Forensic Mental Health services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day delivery of forensic mental health ward services within the designated team area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to service users.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of care and services provided.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of comprehensive care to service users.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge and proven ability in current mental health practice and national policy and guidance.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, service users, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze problems and identify solutions, with a proactive approach to improving services.
  • Knowledge and experience of forensic mental health services, with a strong understanding of the needs of service users.
Person Specification
  • RMN / RN Mental Health, or DipSW / CQSW / CSS or OT.
  • Relevant graduate qualification or equivalent.
  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
  • Practice Placement Educator.
