About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Innovation and Growth. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic growth and implementation of our company's priorities relating to offshore renewables.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Development:
  • Develop and execute projects from initial development and business case through to final delivery.
  • Identify areas where intervention is required, define the appropriate project intervention including identifying partners, deliverables, funding, and outcomes.
  • Ensure all projects meet environmental, health, and safety standards.
Strategic Leadership:
  • Position our company as a key partner with Offshore Wind developers and Tier 1 contractors, to build investment partnerships and to support the delivery of their Supply Chain Development Statement ambitions across the region.
  • Act as a conduit between offshore wind developers and tier 1 contractors with the local supply chain.
  • Develop, implement and deliver the company's offshore renewable energy strategy.
  • Lead our company's investment activities for offshore wind to attract new investment from overseas and from existing investors.
  • Work with industry partners, identify regions and companies that have the potential to invest in the UK, and Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and goals.
Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Secure funding for our company's projects via public and private investment.
  • Monitor financial performance, outcomes and impacts and provide regular reports to the executive team.
Regulatory and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with government bodies and industry groups to influence policy and regulatory frameworks that support the growth of offshore renewables.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation, subsidies, and incentives affecting the offshore renewables sector.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Represent our company at industry conferences, public forums, and in the media as a spokesperson for offshore renewables.
Requirements
  • Ideally, you will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field, or have equivalent relevant career experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of, and network within the UK offshore renewables market, including regulatory and policy landscape.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Commercially astute with a track record of building, developing and delivering propositions.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management and securing project financing.
