About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Handler to join our team at Howden, Corporate & Commercial. As a Claims Handler, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional service to our clients, ensuring that their insurance needs are met with professionalism and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of claims on an end-to-end basis, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Deal with phone calls and post advising of claims, registering First Notice of Loss (FNOL) and managing FNOL registration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and uphold a professional image at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Claims Manager to ensure that all issues or complaints are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Adhere to Howden service standards and procedures, accepted good market practice, and the CII Code of Ethics to ensure the best interest of the client at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations and maintain accurate records and communications with clients.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years commercial motor claims experience.
  • Working knowledge of all the main classes of General Insurance and the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR.
  • Good level of technical insurance skills, with the ability to process work quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent client service skills, with the ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual client's level of understanding.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) and Cert CII (desirable for this role).
