Job Summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Secretary-General Surgery Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to a Consultant(s) and their team(s), acting as a focal point for help and advice to staff members, patients, and professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and schedule workload to ensure compliance with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Scottish Government targets.
  • Assist in organizing and prioritizing the Consultant(s) administrative workload to aid effective forward planning.
  • Take ownership of their post and ensure that they undertake all statutory/mandatory training.
  • Develop their training as required by their own objectives and those of the service.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of Board/Departmental policies and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact.

Working Hours

The shift pattern for this position is Monday-Friday. The role is pro rata for part-time hours, and the successful candidate will be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period.
