About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute. As a Research Fellow in Tissue Engineering of Pancreatic Cancer, you will be responsible for developing and characterising composite polyurethane-peptide scaffolds using cutting-edge material fabrication/characterisation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop advanced multicellular models of pancreatic cancer using the developed scaffolds, with advanced imaging as well as molecular biology techniques.
  • Work closely with Prof Velliou to discuss starting date and ensure smooth transition into the role.
  • Conduct research focused on tissue engineering of pancreatic cancer, with potential for publication in internationally refereed journals.
Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant discipline such as biomaterials, biology and tissue engineering and regenerative medicine or aligned discipline.
  • Experience of high quality academic tissue biology research, including 3D tissue models.
  • Relevant publications as first or last author in internationally refereed journals.
  • Hands-on experience in biomaterials and material modification strategies.

  • A competitive salary of £38,000 - £41,000 per annum, dependent upon experience.
