At the Institute of Cancer Research, we are committed to driving impactful research that benefits patients. Our Business and Innovation Office is a skilled team of staff with decades of experience in collaborating and contracting with commercial organisations and ICR scientists.

We are seeking a Strategic Commercialisation Specialist to join our team, responsible for managing a portfolio of projects that have commercial potential. This role involves identifying research or other activities within ICR suitable for commercial exploitation, arranging for intellectual property to be protected where necessary, and leading negotiations and closing licence, collaboration or spin-out deals.

The successful appointee will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop a good understanding of the ICR's research capabilities and commercial opportunities. They will also be responsible for managing and taking responsibility for the commercialisation of a portfolio of projects through collaborative research, licensing or new venture creation.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The salary for this position is estimated to be around £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits such as hybrid working arrangements and access to training and development opportunities.
