Job Title: Group Leader

Barracudas Activity Day Camps is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Group Leader to join our team. As a Group Leader, you will be responsible for leading a group of children and delivering a range of activities that promote fun, learning, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of a suitable base room area that is inviting for the children.
  • Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for the children.
  • Deliver a variety of activities that cater to the needs and interests of the children.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve common goals.
  • Ensure the children's needs are met through active supervision and attention.
  • Use resources to plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning and fun.
  • Encourage maximum participation and engagement from the children.
  • Get to know the children as individuals and incorporate their interests into the activity program.
  • Take responsibility for the general welfare and safeguarding of the children.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and materials.
Requirements:
  • Experience or qualifications working with children.
  • Aged 18 or over by the start date of the contract.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Provide satisfactory professional/academic references.
  • Enthusiastic, caring, and organized with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable challenges in a childcare setting.
  • Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
  • Complete Online Training annually.
  • Attend Induction Training Day before the first working season.
  • Assist with pack up at the end of camp.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the company fulfills all Health and Safety obligations.
  • Deliver activities that are appropriate for the children's age and abilities.
  • Encourage children to participate in new activities and follow the activity program.
  • Ensure the children behave in a safe manner and respect their individual needs.
  • Follow camp systems, including registration and collection procedures, Health and Safety systems, and guidelines on good practice in child welfare.
  • Be a positive role model and promote a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene practices.
  • Report any concerns regarding Child Protection to the Management Team or Designated Person.
  • Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate children with additional needs or medical conditions.
  • Pending staff availability, deliver Skills Builder sessions.
  • Support swimming sessions and bring swimwear.
