Job Title: Head of Sales and Commercial Excellence

About the Role:

Polestar is seeking a dynamic and motivated leader to drive sales growth and commercial excellence in the UK market. As the Head of Sales and Commercial Excellence, you will be responsible for leading the sales team to achieve sales and profitability targets, while maintaining and growing Polestar's representation with major leasing companies, rental partners, and large corporate end user customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop the company's sales activities, including sales strategy, sales forecasting, and sales reporting.
  2. Own Polestar's sales performance, achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profitability targets.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with major leasing companies, rental partners, and large corporate end user customers to grow sales and revenue.
  4. Manage the fleet sales team to grow sales to existing accounts, develop new end user accounts, and optimize daily activities to grow sales.
  5. Develop and maintain Polestar's Pre-Owned program with retail partners.
  6. Develop and maintain Polestar's remarketing strategy and disposal channels to improve RV positioning.
  7. Cultivate the day-to-day relationship with Space Partners by steering towards commercial and customer relationship KPIs and targets.
  8. Leverage insights and strategic discussions with key external and internal stakeholders on market opportunities and developments.
  9. Cooperate with the Order to Delivery team to ensure cars are delivered on time and in line with targets.
  10. Work with the POD team to ensure a balanced flow of production variant mix and inventory.
  11. Lead and develop a team of Regional Managers within your market.
  12. Develop and maintain a suite of sales reports, including a sales development plan to address any underperformance.

About You:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated leader who can inspire and guide teams to achieve their best. You will be a demonstrated leader who brings expertise, builds trust, and maintains accountability with external partners. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including oratory capabilities, with a proven track record of effectively delivering key messages to live audiences. A passion for cars, technology, and emerging trends is essential.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in a sales role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Proven leader with experience at an automotive OEM retail experience a plus.
  • Experience with NGA and Direct selling business models.
  • Experience of transitioning from a wholesale to a non-genuine agency direct selling model.
  • Experience of working in an Order to Delivery environment and knowledge of the constraints it puts on sales in the month for the month.
  • Extensive contacts within the Fleet and Business sales environment at lease company, major daily rental, Motability operations, and large corporate end user level.
  • Project management skills: ability to effectively manage many tasks simultaneously.
