Job Opportunity at Château de Mercuès

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Château de Mercuès. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for the preparation and service of our culinary offerings, working closely with our Executive Head Chef to create menus and lead the kitchen in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the Executive Head Chef to develop menus and ensure consistency of quality
  • Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Head Chef, ensuring seamless service and maintaining high standards
  • Assist in the training and development of new kitchen staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to achieve exceptional standards of quality, presentation, and service
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel environment
  • Strong culinary skills, with a focus on creativity, attention to detail, and consistency
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures, with a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Professional qualifications and certifications, such as a culinary degree or relevant certifications
