About the Role:
  1. Coordinate the monthly payroll process to guarantee accurate payment processing, timely BACS transfers, and efficient dissemination of payslips.
  2. Respond to payroll-related inquiries regarding compensation, taxes, and National Insurance while providing comprehensive training to HR and payroll personnel.
  3. Regulate and oversee statutory and occupational sick and maternity leave policies, offering staff support when necessary.
  4. Conduct regular reconciliations of payroll-related accounts, produce periodic financial statements, and communicate closely with the finance department.
  5. Verify accurate execution of payroll processes for new employees and those departing, supplying relevant information on payment procedures.
  6. Implement and upgrade payroll systems, ensuring routine backups and software upgrades are carried out.
  7. Manage various pension plans (e.g., TPS and LGPS), incorporating data entry, monthly disbursements, and yearly reports.
  8. Provide direction and appraisal of payroll staff, establishing key objectives and overseeing their professional growth.
  9. Audit assistance, updating the Payroll Guide, and recommending enhancements to operational methods and systems.
  10. Represent the Human Resources and Payroll Department within organizational committees and assist with larger-scale business initiatives.
  11. Evaluate adherence to privacy guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
