Job Overview

The company Freight Personnel is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join their team in Durham. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities across the region and managing an existing portfolio worth approximately £7 million per annum.

Freight Personnel is a leading privately owned palletised transport organisation in the UK with over 40 years of experience. We operate across 11 sites in England and Scotland, employing over 480 people and utilising 220 vehicles. Our commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation for delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professional conduct.

Your Role

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth and expansion in the region. You will identify new business opportunities, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and manage existing accounts to achieve revenue targets. Your primary location will be in Durham, but you will cover the whole of the North East and Scotland as part of this dual territory role.

Requirements

  • A self-motivated and customer-focused approach is essential for this wide-ranging role.
  • Experience within the UK Palletised Transport, Haulage, Groupage, and Logistics sector is preferred, but Parcel and Freight experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to interact effectively with all stakeholder levels.
  • A confident pro-active approach to delivering rate reviews and supporting operations with service-related queries is necessary.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and a performance-related bonus scheme.
