We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Policy and Advocacy Director to join our Senior Management Team at the Economic Change Unit (ECU). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping UK policy, politics, and media to ensure that debates are grounded in robust economic analysis and policy decisions rise to the scale and urgency of modern societal challenges.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement highly strategic and adaptable multi-stakeholder influencing programmes to secure policy change.
  • Analyse and communicate complex economic issues to diverse audiences, including policymakers, media, and stakeholders.
  • Represent ECU externally, managing relationships with key stakeholders and contributing to organisational effectiveness and impact.
  • Manage staff and contribute to the development of ECU's policy and advocacy strategy.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience of influencing policy and political debates through advocacy, communications, and campaigning.
  • Exceptional political judgement and understanding of how to shift public debates and secure policy change.
  • Ability to analyse and communicate complex economic issues to diverse audiences.
  • Strong relationships with key stakeholders and a proven track record of influencing policy change.
