Job Title: Senior Band 6 Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Band 6 Nurse to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children and their families, working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Summary

The Senior Band 6 Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for children and young people with mental health needs. This will involve working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based care, promoting recovery, independence, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff to ensure high-quality care and adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with service users and their families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring they meet the needs of service users.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for service users.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health (RNMH) or other relevant specialism.
  • NMC registration and evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Experience of working with children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, ensuring the safety and well-being of service users.
