About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 Registered Nurse to join our dynamic recovery team as a Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the recovery environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence within the team.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in critical care and recovery, with a proven track record of leadership and clinical expertise. They will be able to work effectively under pressure, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to prioritize workload and delegate tasks effectively.

The Team Leader will be responsible for deputizing for the Senior Sister and acting as a Clinical Specialist and expert role model within Perioperative Care Services. They will promote excellent team working and ensure safe, effective, research-based patient care.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. To act as a Clinical Specialist and expert role model within Perioperative Care Services.
  2. To deputize for the Band 7 team in their absence across the full range of management responsibilities.
  3. To be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care without supervision.
  4. To assist in the setting and implementation of objectives and appraisal of trained staff and learners.
  5. To be a facilitator for change and assist in establishing new policies and protocols.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registered Adult Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
  • Active and current UK NMC/HCPC Registration.
  • Practice Assessor/Supervisor qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing/continued professional development.

Desirable qualifications include Course relevant to Recovery and Management Studies.

The successful candidate will have significant critical care/recovery experience at Band 5, with evidence of ongoing commitment to the development of the recovery unit. They will be a clinical expert in recovery care and willing to support all recovery units.
