Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Respiratory Physiology team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support to our clinical staff and patients, ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date hospital systems and records.
  • Ensure all patient records are complete and accurate, both paper and electronic.
  • Process referrals and appointments efficiently, adhering to local and national guidelines.
  • Input data accurately and within 24 hours, ensuring data integrity.
  • Book appointments, clinics, and outcomes, and liaise with peripheral hospitals as needed.
  • Request and return medical records, and provide non-clinical advice and guidance to patients and visitors.
  • Prioritize work to meet deadlines and targets, and support reception on a rotational basis.
  • Take incoming phone calls and respond to queries in accordance with departmental policies.

Person Specification
  • GCSE level or equivalent, including English Grade C or above.
  • Computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Office, customer service skills, and data input experience.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, good communication and initiative skills, and ability to prioritize workload.
