Job Summary

Sandwell Talking Therapies, part of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, aims to improve health and wellbeing, tackle inequalities, and deliver high-quality services within IAPT guidelines.

The IAPT programme supports frontline NHS services in implementing NICE guidelines for individuals with depression and anxiety disorders. Our teams offer a range of psychological therapies to treat mental health conditions using a system of stepped care.

We are seeking a Duty Coordinator to provide support and guidance to our clinical and administrative teams.

A blended approach to working from home will be considered following induction.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accept referrals into the service and make decisions on their suitability
  • Establish pathways for referrers and patients, acting as a point of contact for external professionals and service users
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the service and meet performance standards for output and clinical outcomes
  • Support staff to work with IAPT-appropriate cases for which they have received suitable training

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Professional qualification in mental health or a related field (RMN, OT, CBT, Psychology)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in delivery of mental health interventions
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Counsellor level 5
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Professional registration with governing body
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Partnership working with multi-agency and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Triaging referrals and making clinical decisions about appropriate services
