Duty Coordinator for Mental Health Services

About the Role
The Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Duty Coordinator to join their team. As a key member of the clinical team, you will be responsible for accepting referrals into the service and making decisions on their suitability.
You will establish a pathway for referrers and patients, acting as a point of contact for external professionals and service users seeking help or advice. The post-holder will contribute to the development and maintenance of the service, meeting performance standards for output and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting staff with queries regarding triage, treatment, and access to secondary care.
- Triage referrals entering the service via the IAPT self-referral portal or from other professionals.
- Managing triage referrals and making clinical decisions about appropriate services.
- Recognising signs of abuse/safeguarding concerns and taking appropriate action.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in mental health (RMN, OT, CBT, Psychology).
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and assessing risk.
- Knowledge of assessment applicable to a range of mental health needs and latest evidence-based practice.
