Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and organised individual to train as an Apprentice Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. The successful candidate will study for a University Professional Certificate in Psychological Practice, as part of the Psychological Wellbeing Practice Level 6 Apprenticeship, which is a cornerstone qualification for working in NHS Talking Therapies services.

The training is delivered jointly between Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT), and Staffordshire University. The post holder will be required to attend at least 1 day teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study, and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week, from our base at the Whiteheath Medical Centre.

The post holder will be offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The post holder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.

Main Duties of the Job

Please be aware that, when applying for this post, there is an expectation that the post-holder will complete the Psychological Wellbeing Practice Level 6 Apprenticeship with Staffordshire University.

Band: 4 Agenda For Change £25,147

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Contract Type: Permanent (upon successful completion of APWP training course)

Responsible to: Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

Responsible for: None

Successful applicants will hold:

  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem

  • Relevant professional experience in caring for people, particularly those experiencing mental health difficulties which can be through paid, voluntary or through expertise gained by experience of mental health difficulties
