**Job Overview**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and motivated individual to join Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as an Apprentice Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
This role offers the successful candidate the chance to study for a University Professional Certificate in Psychological Practice, as part of the Psychological Wellbeing Practice Level 6 Apprenticeship, which is a cornerstone qualification for working in NHS Talking Therapies services.
The training is delivered jointly between Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT), and Staffordshire University.
**Main Duties of the Job**
As an Apprentice Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, the successful candidate will be required to attend at least 1 day of teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study, and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week, from our base at the Whiteheath Medical Centre.
Teaching will be at University of Staffordshire (Stoke Campus) and will commence in the near future.
The post holder will be offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
**Key Responsibilities**
The post holder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.
Successful applicants will hold:
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent).
- Significant experience of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem
**Person Specification**
The ideal candidate will possess:
- GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Relevant professional experience in caring for people, particularly those experiencing mental health difficulties which can be through paid, voluntary or through expertise gained by experience of mental health difficulties
- Knowledge and skills of working with a diverse client group
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Essential time management skills
- Ability to use IT Systems
- Able to use own initiative
- Effective administration skills (accurate record keeping)
- Ability to respond to and manage change
- Able to attend clinical sessions as required for the completion of the PWP Apprenticeship
- Able to manage the academic requirements of the training
- Organisation and time management skills
- Promotes recovery and social inclusion
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to demonstrate compassion to all service users, self and staff
