Job Title: Educational Programme Lead - Autism Support

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity involves working with students who have autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties in our residential school. You will be responsible for assisting students in accessing a broad curriculum through individual programmes.

You will participate in curriculum development and planning memorable learning experiences that cater to the unique needs of each student. Additionally, you will mentor and coach new Teaching Assistants, helping them to grow professionally and personally.

Your expertise will also be utilized to develop the curriculum with a focus on Literacy and Communication, ensuring that students receive the best possible education. You will present student progress to stakeholders, providing insightful updates on their growth and development.

In this role, you will line manage a small group of Teaching Assistants, providing guidance and support to help them excel in their positions. To succeed in this position, you must demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.

About You:

We are looking for someone with a practical, creative, and inventive approach to teaching and supporting students with autism. Your ability to interact with people in various ways is essential, as well as your dynamic and proactive attitude.

To be successful in this role, you must meet the person specification, which includes possessing enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, and employment checks. Registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is mandatory, and online searches of shortlisted candidates will be conducted.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in accessing a broad curriculum through individual programmes
  • Participate in curriculum development and planning memorable learning experiences
  • Mentor and coach new TAs
  • Develop the curriculum with a focus on Literacy and Communication
  • Present student progress to stakeholders
  • Line manage a small group of TAs
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills
