About the Role">

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consultant to join our team. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and supporting your team manager in ensuring that our service users' needs are met.

With excellent clinical skills and knowledge, you will provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to our Getting More Help North Team. You will assess new routine, urgent, and emergency referrals from other agencies and provide consultation to non-medical clinicians.

The appointed Consultant will have responsibility for those patients seen by themselves, together with those patients seen by medical staff directly supervised by the post holder. You will work closely with the Management Team and contribute to the locality Duty Medic Rota, attending the locality Medical Team Meeting and Clinically Team Meeting.

We offer an estimated salary of £83,100 - £170,860 per annum, depending on experience. This role comes with opportunities for career progression, access to tailored individual and Trust-wide learning and development, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise effectively with other services and agencies (education and social care)
  • Manage mental health crises including use of the mental health act where appropriate.
  • Support and enable appropriate admission and discharge of patients from inpatient units.

Requirements:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
