Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, managing administrative tasks, and supporting the practice team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and ensure they are checked in manually
  • Answer telephone calls and deal with enquiries
  • Make appointments, including telephone, follow-up, and urgent appointments
  • Deal with messages from patients, clinicians, or external bodies and take appropriate action
  • Record requests for home visits and pass them on to the duty doctor
  • Handle patient files and maintain confidentiality
  • File medical records and scan hospital reports and letters
  • Assist with QoF and Enhanced Services reporting and planning

Requirements

  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen, empathise, and support people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to prioritise and plan actions under pressure
