About the Role:

MaxFund, Inc. is seeking an exceptional Investment Director to join our team and help shape the future of our private equity fund. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for owning the investment strategy and executing it through deal origination, investing, due diligence, portfolio management, and fund operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead investment team from inception and identify pre-filtered relevant investment opportunities from our network to close new deals.
  • Build out our network of relationships with relevant industry stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, venture funds, corporate financiers, journalists, corporations, family offices, business angels, non-executive directors, industry executives, and advisors.
  • Oversee deep-dive research into key investment and emerging tech themes.
  • Champion selected deals and investment recommendations to the Board.
  • Track performance of deal portfolio and prepare reports for the Board and external investors.
  • Own financial deal structuring and legal negotiations, liaising with financial institutions, such as banks, debt lenders, investors, and supporting the legal process.
  • Run team and oversee/improve all investment systems processes and run due diligence on new deals.
  • Fundraising – Support fundraising efforts as required, supporting wider portfolio company capital raises, IPOs, and M&A processes.
  • Acting contact for management teams across our portfolio companies.
  • Thought Leadership – Contribute to MaxFund, Inc.'s thought leadership by supporting the development of published research, market commentary, and similar.
  • Attend and speak at relevant industry events.
  • Inspire – management responsibilities for Investment Interns, Analysts, and Associates.

Requirements:

  • Deep experience in different investment structures and financial engineering.
  • Great communication skills, including the ability to succinctly summarize thoughts and analysis in writing and prepare presentations/investment memos.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, project management, and data and reporting.
  • Strong regulatory, governance, and compliance knowledge, with experience in managing complex operations across various geographical locations.
  • London-based, with a hybrid culture and a vibrant work environment centered around connection and community.
  • Some roles may require global travel, so flexibility is important.
