We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Mental Health Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to individuals with mental health needs.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical input to patients under the care of our Community Mental Health Team, attending CPAs for enhanced patients, and providing urgent assessment and advice as required. The post holder will also lead on screening new referrals to the team, participate in service evaluation and planning, and empower the team to resolve local issues using quality improvement tools.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide medical input to patients under the care of the Community Mental Health Team
- Attend CPAs for enhanced patients and provide urgent assessment/advice as required
- Lead on screening new referrals to the team (rotational responsibility)
- Participate in service evaluation and planning
- Empower the team to resolve local issues using quality improvement tools
- Manage, appraise, and give professional supervision to junior medical staff
- Participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and whole mental health service
- Join the Consultant on-call rota

- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
