Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician Manager to lead our team of pharmacy technicians and support staff in providing quality, effective medicines management services to improve patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the team of pharmacy technicians and support staff to provide quality, effective pharmacy services to improve patient care.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels of technical staffing to match workload, producing weekly rotas, amending to reflect unforeseen absences and handling annual leave requests.
  • Administer medication safely and in a timely manner as part of the routine medicines round in the prison.
  • Promote further development of the pharmacy technician's role within the Trust by acting as co-ordinator for medicines reconciliation, compliance checks, audits, medicines administration by technicians.
  • Support the senior pharmacist in development and review of medicines management service.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential: BTEC Level 3 Professional Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent. GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Desirable: Evidence of post registration development.

Experience

  • Essential: Experience in leadership & management, mentoring and appraisal.
  • Desirable: Accuracy Checking qualification.

Essential Experience

  • 2 years prison experience.

Desirable Experience

  • Medicines management experience.
