Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Female Support Worker to provide essential assistance to a 39-year-old lady living with cerebral palsy. This role involves supporting her with daily activities and ensuring her comfort and well-being.

About the Client:

The client is a lively individual who requires help with personal care and transfers. She communicates effectively using an electronic speech device and lives independently in her own residence. The role involves providing 1-1 care around the clock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the client in accessing community activities.
  • Support the completion of therapy programs as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure the client’s personal care needs are met with dignity and respect.

Compensation:

Hourly rates are as follows:

  • £14.00 per hour on weekdays
  • £15.50 per hour on weekends
  • £.28 per sleep shift on weekdays
  • £.68 per sleep shift on weekends

Additionally, the position includes 3 days of paid sick leave.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • An NVQ (or equivalent) in care is preferred.
  • Experience in caring for individuals with physical and/or learning disabilities.
  • A genuine interest in promoting active rehabilitation and supporting the client’s potential.
  • Female candidates are required due to the nature of the role.
  • A valid UK driving license and confidence in driving the client’s vehicle.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the client, her family, and other professionals.
  • A current DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing staff and knowledge of staff rota organization.
  • Current training in relevant areas such as health and safety, safeguarding, and first aid.

Working Hours:

Hours are available and will be discussed during the interview process. Ideally, these hours will be shared between two individuals:

  • Monday: 7.45 AM – 1.00 PM
  • Friday: 7.45 AM – 1.00 PM
  • Alternate Saturday: 12.45 PM – 8.15 PM
  • Sunday: 7.45 AM – 1.00 PM and 12.45 PM – 8.15 PM
