Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Female Support Worker to provide essential assistance to a vibrant 39-year-old woman living with cerebral palsy. This role involves supporting her with daily activities and personal care, ensuring she has the opportunity to engage in community activities and follow therapy programs as directed by healthcare professionals.

About the Client:

The client is a fun-loving individual who communicates effectively using an electronic speech aid. She requires 1-1 support throughout the day and night in her own home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care and transfers.
  • Facilitate access to community activities.
  • Support the implementation of therapy programs.

Compensation:

Hourly rates are as follows:

  • £14.00 per hour on weekdays
  • £15.50 per hour on weekends
  • £.28 per sleep shift on weekdays
  • £.68 per sleep shift on weekends

Benefits:

  • 3 days of paid sick leave.
  • Professional development opportunities under the guidance of a dedicated case manager.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • NVQ (or equivalent) in care is preferred.
  • Experience in caring for individuals with physical and/or learning disabilities.
  • A genuine interest in active rehabilitation and supporting the client’s independence.
  • Must be female due to the nature of the role.
  • Full UK driving license and confidence in driving the client’s vehicle.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with the client, her family, and other professionals.
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing care staff and knowledge of staff rota organization.
  • Current training in areas such as health and safety, safeguarding, and first aid.

Working Hours:

Hours are flexible and will be discussed during the interview process. Potential shifts include:

  • Monday to Friday: 7.45 AM – 1.00 PM
  • Alternate Saturdays: 12.45 PM – 8.15 PM
  • Sunday: 7.45 AM – 1.00 PM and 12.45 PM – 8.15 PM
