Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner to join our team at Catch22. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people (CYP) by working in close partnership with Surrey Healthy Schools.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in substance misuse, youth work, and education, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for developing and delivering training for education staff, as well as providing support to parents and carers of CYP who have identified substance misuse concerns.
The role will involve working collaboratively with local schools and other agencies to deliver a holistic package of care, including attending multi-agency meetings and ensuring effective referrals, care, and risk management. The post holder will also be responsible for offering initial triage/assessment for students where concerns/incidents relating to substance misuse have been identified, and onward referral of CYP into SYPSMS as appropriate.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of the risks and effects of substance misuse, as well as experience in delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners. The ideal candidate will be able to engage with and build effective working relationships with a range of different partners and stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver training for education staff on substance misuse awareness and prevention.
- Provide support to parents and carers of CYP who have identified substance misuse concerns.
- Work collaboratively with local schools and other agencies to deliver a holistic package of care.
- Offer initial triage/assessment for students where concerns/incidents relating to substance misuse have been identified.
- Ensure effective referrals, care, and risk management for CYP.
Requirements:
- NVQ3 Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Specialist knowledge of alcohol/substance misuse and associated risks and effects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners.
