Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner to join our team at Catch22. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people (CYP) by working in close partnership with Surrey Healthy Schools.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in substance misuse, youth work, and education, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for developing training for education staff, delivering workshops to parents and carers, and providing targeted support to parents/carers of CYP with substance misuse concerns.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the risks and effects of substance misuse, as well as experience in delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners. They will be able to engage with and build effective working relationships with a range of different partners and stakeholders, including local schools and other relevant agencies.
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate transferable experience in education roles, including SENCO, school nurse, and designated safeguarding lead. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the SYPSMS team to deliver a holistic package of care, including attending multi-agency meetings and ensuring effective referrals, care, and risk management.
The successful candidate will be able to offer an initial triage/assessment for students (aged up to 18) where concerns/incidents relating to substance misuse have been identified, and onward referral of CYP into SYPSMS as appropriate. They will also be able to provide specialist harm reduction advice/information to parents/carers and referral of CYP into SYPSMS where appropriate.

Requirements:
- NVQ3 Health & Social Care or equivalent/appropriate qualification
- Specialist knowledge of alcohol/substance misuse and the associated risks and effects
- Ability to engage with and build effective working relationships with a range of different partners and stakeholders
- Experience in delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners
