Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training for education staff on substance misuse awareness and prevention.
  • Provide targeted support to parents and carers of children with substance misuse concerns.
  • Collaborate with local schools and agencies to deliver a holistic package of care for children and young people.
  • Offer initial triage and assessment for students with substance misuse concerns and refer them to appropriate services as needed.
  • Provide specialist harm reduction advice and information to parents and carers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data recording and reporting.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people. As a Senior Substance Misuse Specialist, you will work closely with schools and other agencies to develop and deliver training and support services to prevent and address substance misuse.

You will have the opportunity to work with a range of stakeholders, including education staff, parents and carers, and other professionals. You will be responsible for developing and delivering training and support services, as well as providing targeted support to parents and carers of children with substance misuse concerns.

Requirements:

  • NVQ3 Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Specialist knowledge of alcohol and substance misuse.
  • Ability to engage with and build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering training and support services.
