Job Title: Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner to join our team at Catch22. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people (CYP) by working in close partnership with Surrey Healthy Schools.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in substance misuse, youth work, and education, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for developing and delivering training for education staff, as well as providing support to parents and carers of service users accessing our substance misuse service.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the risks and effects of substance misuse, and be able to engage with a range of different partners and stakeholders. They will also have experience in delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of CYP, and who is committed to working in a relationship-based approach that draws on the ethos and values aligned with youth and community work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training for education staff on substance misuse awareness and prevention.
  • Provide support to parents and carers of service users accessing our substance misuse service.
  • Work collaboratively with local schools and other relevant agencies to deliver a holistic package of care.
  • Offer initial triage and assessment for students where concerns or incidents relating to substance misuse have been identified.
  • Provide specialist harm reduction advice and information to parents and carers.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate data recording and reporting.

Requirements:

  • NVQ3 Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Specialist knowledge of alcohol and substance misuse.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners.
