Job Title: Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner

About the Role:

Catch22 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner to join our team. As a Senior Substance Misuse School Link Practitioner, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of relevant policy, procedure, and training, and bridging the gap between schools and Catch22's substance misuse services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training for education staff on substance misuse awareness and prevention.
  • Provide targeted support to parents and carers of children and young people who have identified substance misuse concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with local schools and other agencies to deliver a holistic package of care, including attending multi-agency meetings and ensuring effective referrals and care management.
  • Offer initial triage and assessment for students where concerns or incidents relating to substance misuse have been identified, and onward referral to Catch22's substance misuse services as appropriate.
  • Provide specialist harm reduction advice and information to parents and carers, and refer children and young people to Catch22's substance misuse services where necessary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data recording, including tracking, outcome monitoring, and assisting with the production of feedback reports.

About You:

We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • NVQ3 Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification, including relevant professional qualifications in substance misuse, youth work, or a related field.
  • Specialist knowledge of alcohol and substance misuse, including associated risks and effects.
  • Ability to engage with and build effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners.
