About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Governance and Performance Manager to join our team at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving organizational excellence and achieving strategic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Governance Frameworks
    • Develop and implement effective governance frameworks to ensure seamless execution of our vision and strategy.
  • Performance Metrics
    • Enhance performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and optimize organizational performance.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Secretariat Service
    • Provide expert secretariat service, including writing minutes and papers, to support the Governance, Performance, and Improvement Lead.
  • Information Governance
    • Support the Senior Information Governance Manager in carrying out Data Protection Audits, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and ensuring that the ROPA is up to date.
  • Planning and Quality
    • Work closely with the Senior Project and CI Manager to ensure that annual planning cycle runs smoothly and that all plans are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Complaints Management
    • Be responsible for the effective management of complaints.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Understanding and experience of corporate governance.
    • Experience of delivering secretariat service, including writing minutes and papers.
    • Managing and presenting complex information so that it is clear and concise.
  • Technical Skills
    • Microsoft Office, G Suite, and project management software.
  • Desirable Criteria
    • Experience of writing and maintenance of risk registers.
    • An understanding of academic and/or research activities in science.
    • Experience of research funding.
    • Experience of translating policy into practice.
    • Process mapping experience.
    • Change management experience.
