Position Overview

Join our dynamic Venue Sales team at Chester Zoo, the UK's premier zoo, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our unique event offerings.

In this position, you will focus on optimizing revenue from our exceptional facilities, including our exquisite wedding and event venue, The Square. Your responsibilities will encompass the sales and organization of weddings, festive gatherings, birthdays, and various special occasions. Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the charge in promoting venue sales at Chester Zoo, ensuring we generate substantial income through the planning and execution of memorable events that resonate with our clients, while maximizing business development opportunities to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Work towards achieving departmental revenue and performance targets, enhancing the operating surplus through strategic planning, commercial initiatives, sales efforts, and effective cost management.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all events, establishing timelines, managing contracts and invoicing, and delegating tasks to the broader team. Additionally, support the execution of complex, high-profile events, including senior-level interactions and contract negotiations.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Permanent employment contract.
  • Annual salary of £28,612.83 based on a 40-hour work week, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or evening commitments.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Sales Executive capacity, preferably within environments such as visitor attractions or large hospitality venues.
  • Exceptional customer service skills in a client-focused setting.
  • Ability to balance customer needs with profitability.
  • A natural sales aptitude with a keen eye for commercial opportunities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of individuals, including clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly EPOS and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
