Overview:

In the role of Sales Director for Travel Trade and Consortia, you will play a pivotal part in building and maintaining relationships, identifying new business avenues, and driving sales within the Travel Trade and Consortia sectors. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, your responsibilities will include strategic planning, conducting market analysis, overseeing the corporate and consortia RFP submission process, and collaborating with various internal teams to achieve revenue objectives and enhance the Montcalm Collection's market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Conducting comprehensive market analysis to uncover trends, opportunities, and competitive insights within the Travel Trade and Consortia sectors.
  • Client Relationship Management: Building and nurturing relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth and maintain a robust network.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Crafting and executing effective sales strategies to meet revenue targets, while considering market dynamics and customer preferences.
  • New Business Acquisition: Actively pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to expand the company's reach in the Travel Trade and Consortia markets.
  • Client Satisfaction: Managing existing client relationships to ensure high satisfaction levels and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
  • Team Leadership: Leading the corporate and consortia RFP submission process in collaboration with the RFP Coordinator.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with teams across E-commerce, marketing, and finance to deliver cohesive Travel Trade and Consortia services.
  • Performance Reporting: Providing regular insights and reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to the Commercial Director for informed decision-making.
  • Brand Advocacy: Acting as a brand ambassador, representing the company's values and image in all interactions within the Travel Trade and Consortia sectors.
  • Contract Negotiation: Leading negotiations for contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms while maintaining positive client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, particularly within the Travel Trade and Consortia sectors.
  • Industry Insight: Deep understanding of market trends, customer behavior, and key competitors.
  • Networking Abilities: Strong skills in networking and relationship-building to establish connections within the industry.
  • Sales Proficiency: Demonstrated success in developing and implementing sales strategies that achieve revenue goals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to analyze market data and identify opportunities for effective business strategies.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Skilled in negotiation techniques to secure advantageous deals.
  • Client Management: Experience in managing client relationships and ensuring satisfaction.

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field is often preferred; however, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Knowledge of Travel Trade: Strong understanding of the Travel Trade and Consortia markets.
