Position Overview

The successful candidate will become an integral part of our dedicated team of 12 Radiology professionals, which includes 8 Consultant Radiologists and 3 Radiology Specialists, committed to delivering exceptional radiological services to our patients.

All team members, including Consultants and Specialist grade doctors, are engaged in general radiology practices encompassing CT, MRI, ultrasound, and conventional film interpretation, while also contributing their specialized expertise to support multidisciplinary teams.

The role involves participating in a shared on-call service for general radiology outside of standard hours. Nightly CT reporting is managed externally, ensuring coverage 7 days a week (8pm-8am on weekdays and 5pm-9pm on weekends/bank holidays). Our Radiology team benefits from the capability to conduct home reporting, equipped with dedicated AGFA workstations and advanced VR dictation tools available for all current and future Radiologists.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert radiological guidance and services to users of the radiology departments.

- Ensure adherence to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations, collaborating with the radiation protection supervisor and advisor.

- Take personal accountability for the clinical management of referred patients.

- Offer necessary advice and information to clinical colleagues and other staff members.

- Share the responsibility for the mentorship, training, and professional growth of radiographic and other relevant staff.

- Engage in educational sessions alongside other clinical specialties.

- Actively participate in personal and departmental audit and governance activities.

- Attend pertinent multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings within the Trust.

- Contribute to the radiology on-call schedule.

- Fully engage in the Trust's appraisal and revalidation processes.
