Position Overview

The Radiology Department at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and organized individual to become a vital member of our administrative team.

In this role, you will contribute significantly to the department's mission of delivering a responsive imaging service to both the hospital and the broader healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will rotate through various administrative functions within the department, providing essential support to Consultants, the Service Manager, and other departmental leaders as needed.
  • A solid understanding of various computer-based procedures is required, particularly with the Radiology Information System (RIS), which employs specialized software tailored for Radiology.
  • You will be responsible for scheduling appointments on the RIS, ensuring that examination-specific instructions are effectively communicated to ward staff, patients, and other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Participation in a weekend rota is expected, where you will work independently, assisting Radiologists and chaperoning patients in addition to your regular administrative duties.
  • A working knowledge of medical abbreviations and terminology is essential for the accurate scheduling of specialized imaging examinations.

Qualifications and Experience

Desirable

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Mathematics, English, and ICT.

Experience

Essential

  • Prior experience in engaging with the public or participating in voluntary activities.

  • NVQ in Customer Service.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment, particularly with Patient Centre.
  • General knowledge of the NHS.
  • The ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of the radiology department and its procedures.
