Position Overview

The selected candidate will become a vital member of our esteemed Radiology team, collaborating with a group of 12 Radiology physicians, 8 Consultant Radiologists, and 3 Specialty grade doctors to deliver exceptional radiological services.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a range of duties, including:

  • Providing expert radiological consultation and services to users of the radiology departments.
  • Ensuring adherence to Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations in conjunction with the radiation protection supervisor and advisor.
  • Taking personal accountability for the clinical management of referred patients.
  • Offering guidance and information to clinical colleagues and staff as necessary.
  • Contributing to the supervision, training, and professional growth of radiographic and other staff.
  • Engaging in educational sessions with various clinical specialties.
  • Actively participating in departmental audits and governance processes.
  • Attending relevant multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintaining Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in line with RCR guidelines.
  • Participating fully in the appraisal and revalidation processes.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full Registration and a license to practice with the General Medical Council.

Desirable:

  • FRCR or equivalent radiology qualification.
  • Additional professional qualifications or higher degrees in medical education, clinical research, or management.
