Position Overview

We are excited to welcome a new member to the Faculty of Arts & Humanities Research Team as we embark on the development of the innovative 'Transformative Humanities' initiative. Research is integral to our Faculty, influencing both our teaching and collaborative projects. Our dynamic research environment promotes interdisciplinary collaboration through a variety of activities, including seminars, conferences, and public events.

The successful candidate will play a vital role within a high-performing team dedicated to the administration of our research framework. You will collaborate closely with Senior Research Administrators and the Deputy Executive Dean for Research, as well as engage with colleagues across various departments and University services, including Research Innovation, Marketing, and Finance. Our team operates in a hybrid model, with an office located in a prestigious area.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass:
  • Managing the daily schedule for the Deputy Executive Dean (Research).
  • Serving as the primary contact for team communications.
  • Overseeing and supporting the Faculty Filmmaker in Residence's activities.
  • Assisting with research administration tasks, including managing research leave and internal funding opportunities.
  • Maintaining the Faculty's website and SharePoint resources.
  • Coordinating and supporting events for the Faculty, departments, and research centers.
  • Organizing and documenting Faculty committee meetings.
  • Contributing to initiatives aimed at process enhancement.

Application Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates should demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
  • A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C or level four (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Experience in a busy office environment, delivering frontline administrative services or relevant qualifications.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient digital skills, including experience with Microsoft 365 applications and digital communication tools.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience in diary management or personal assistant roles.
