Role Overview

The Administration and Finance Team plays a crucial role in supporting various sections of the University Library and Collections. Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, this team is dedicated to delivering high-quality administrative and financial services. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation of administrative functions, including finance and human resources, contributing to a seamless experience for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

As an Administrator, your primary duties will include:
  • Managing the finance system for processing purchase orders and invoices.
  • Generating and analyzing monthly financial reports for budget holders.
  • Handling administrative tasks related to recruitment, absence reporting, and general office management.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and discretion in managing sensitive information.
  • Reconciling purchase card transactions in a timely manner.

Work Environment

This position will primarily be based at the main library, with the expectation of flexibility to work across various library sites as needed. A minimum of three days per week on campus is required, with opportunities for remote work once fully trained.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Five GCSEs at Grade C or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.
  • Experience in a busy office environment providing administrative support.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
