Field Based Technician - Electric Vehicles

EVEREC is seeking a dedicated Field Based Technician specializing in Electric Vehicles. This role requires a professional with a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric vehicles.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide on-site repair and maintenance services for electric vehicles at client locations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, diagnose vehicle issues, and implement timely solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair electric vehicles efficiently.
  • Provide roadside assistance and attend to vehicles at customer sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electric vehicles.
  • Assist in the assembly of electric vehicles, including the assembly and disassembly of motors, gearboxes, and power electronics.
  • Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications accurately.
  • Conduct diagnostic checks and ensure quality control of completed work.
  • Travel frequently to client locations across the UK, with occasional international travel.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers on-site.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or HNC/BTEC in Engineering.
  • Valid UK driver's license.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in breakdown and roadside repairs.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic software.
  • Strong diagnostic skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Over 4 years of experience in vehicle maintenance, with a focus on pneumatics and hydraulics; electrical expertise is a plus.
  • Ability to operate tools and machinery related to the assembly and repair of electric vehicles.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with a high level of motivation.
  • Ability to manage time effectively while working in the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Physical fitness is necessary due to the manual handling and operation of equipment involved in the role.
