Field Based Technician - Electric Vehicles

EVEREC is seeking a dedicated Field Based Technician with expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric vehicles. This role is essential for ensuring our clients receive prompt and effective service.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide on-site repair and maintenance services for electric vehicles. Successful candidates will possess strong diagnostic skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients quickly.

Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime and occasional weekend work.

Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000, along with a company vehicle and travel expenses covered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and repairing electric vehicles at client locations.
  • Performing maintenance tasks on electric vehicles.
  • Assembling electric vehicles in production, including the assembly and disassembly of motors, gearboxes, and power electronics.
  • Interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Conducting diagnostic checks and ensuring quality of completed work.
  • Traveling frequently to client sites across the UK, with occasional international travel.
  • Communicating effectively with clients on-site.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or HNC/BTEC in Engineering.
  • Valid UK driver's license.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years in roadside repairs.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic software.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • At least 4 years of experience in vehicle maintenance, with a focus on pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to operate tools and machinery related to the assembly and repair of electric vehicles.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong time management abilities while working independently in the field.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical fitness is essential due to the manual handling and operation of equipment involved in this role.
