About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner to join our team in Theatres at University Hospital Monklands.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing care needs and evaluating programs of care to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients.

You will also be responsible for managing a clinical area, including supervising and deploying staff, in the absence of the charge nurse.

Additionally, you will ensure that appropriate resources are available for planned procedures.

What We're Looking For
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration or SVQIII in Operating Department Practice/Diploma in Operating Department Practice.
  • Educated to or working towards and operating at Degree Level.
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality or area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality or area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality or area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality or area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
  • Further education and evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days, courses, post graduate qualification.
  • Good leadership and team working and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience of co-ordinating a team or service.
  • Knowledge of scheduling principles.
  • Service improvement methodology.
  • Proven skills in carrying out challenging conversations.
Contract Type and Working Hours

This is a permanent full-time position with 37 hours per week.
