Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Night Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at NHS National Services Scotland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing care needs and developing programmes of care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient care needs and develop programmes of care
  • Implement and evaluate care programmes, ensuring high-quality patient care
  • Carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision
  • Supervise and demonstrate procedures to registered and unregistered staff, as well as student nurses
  • Direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of other staff within the ward or department, promoting best practice in patient care
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
  • Excellent team working skills, with the ability to work using own initiative
  • Effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Evidence of post-registration development
  • Infection control course/training
  • Post-registration experience
  • Working experience within an acute setting or a medical admissions area
  • Good knowledge of SIGN, Trust procedures, and policies
  • In-depth knowledge of best practice guidelines and statements
  • Cannulation skills
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Advanced assessment skills
  • Intravenous drugs administration skills
  • Venepuncture skills
Contract and Working Pattern

This is a permanent, full-time or part-time position, with various hours available. If taking part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in a medical receiving unit within a hospital.
