About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our dedicated team within Theatres at University Hospital Monklands.

As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will encompass the assessment of patient needs, the development and implementation of personalized care plans, and the ongoing evaluation of treatment outcomes.

In addition to providing direct patient care, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the theatre environment. This includes ensuring that adequate resources are available for planned procedures, supervising and deploying staff effectively, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

What We Are Looking For

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration or SVQIII in Operating Department Practice/Diploma in Operating Department Practice.
  • Educated to or working towards and operating at Degree Level.
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality or area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality or area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality or area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality or area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
  • Further education and evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days, courses, post graduate qualification.
  • Good leadership and team working and communication skills.

It would be great if you also have

  • Previous experience of co-ordinating a team or service
  • Knowledge of scheduling principles
  • Experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives
