We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Mental Health Nurse Leader to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in managing and delivering care to a defined caseload of clients, working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver care to a defined caseload of clients, ensuring a high standard of quality care.
  • Delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management, and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers.
  • Work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies to ensure effective care delivery.
  • Develop and implement care plans, ensuring they are tailored to the individual needs of clients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practice.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other teams and services to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration - Registration Mental Health/Learning Disabilities.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality, including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification.
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • A full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence.
