We are pleased to announce an opening for a Lead Critical Care Nurse within our intensive care unit. This specialized unit is equipped with 10 beds, providing advanced care at Levels 2 and 3.
In this role, you will deliver clinical direction and expert guidance to nursing personnel, ensuring high standards of care within your designated area. Your responsibilities will encompass recruitment, oversight, development, and allocation of unit staff, maintaining continuous 24-hour management of the ward or department.
You will also engage in regular rotational duties across the Directorate or Hospital, offering leadership, addressing clinical challenges, and managing staffing needs as required.

Key Qualifications- Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration
- Education at Degree Level or equivalent
- Postgraduate expertise in relevant specialty demonstrating the necessary breadth of knowledge for effective leadership
- Thorough understanding of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty
- Specialized knowledge and experience in relevant conditions, policies, and procedures, ensuring the ability to lead effectively
- Management qualification or equivalent through experience and ongoing professional development
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the specialty, including relevant courses and qualifications
- Strong team leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Effective time management skills
- Basic information technology proficiency
This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring 37 hours per week.
Location and Work ScheduleThe position is based within the intensive care unit.
